PARTICIPATES IN TURIN ISLAMIC ECONOMY FORUM 2017
Turin, Italy – Dr. Mohammad Barakat, Consilium Advisory’s Managing Partner participated in the Turin Islamic Economy Forum in its 2017 edition held on March 6 – 8, 2017 at the Conference Centre in the City Center. Dr. Barakat participated as a speaker and discussant in the Day 1’s Session 4 addressing the Scientific Environment in Turin in relation to potential investments in the Islamic finance space. Dr. Barakat’s speech and interjection followed 4 presentations delivered by Silvio Aime, Vice Rector, University of Torino, Romano Borchiellini, Vice Rector, Politecnico of Torino, Fabrizio Gatti, President, Finpiemonte, and Fabrizio Conicella, General Manager, Bioindustry Park.
The highlights of Dr. Barakat’s speech address the significance building sustainable relationships with many the Middle East’s top Wealth Sovereignty Funds (WSFs) especially in light of recent trends in proliferation into higher risk investments in the arenas of technology, green investments and eco investments. Dr. Barakat’s comments were warmly received by the panel, as well as the audience who followed with a series of questions and requests for further communication.
The session was chaired and moderated by Paolo Biancone, Professor, Islamic Finance Observatory, University of Torino. The session was sponsored by the City of Turin, The University of Turin, Turin’s Chamber of Commerce and ASSAIF. Dr. Mohammad Barakat’s participation honors the invitation by the Mayor of Turin.
